Navigating Blended Families: An Experiential Group
Living Well’s Jessica Blue Sky, LPC, presents “Navigating Blended Families”, a support group for parents, teens and tweens in blended families. Having and being step-parents and step-children can be challenging. This is a group aimed at learning new ways to bring harmony into the home. An opportunity to engage in activities aimed at unifying the family.
We will join each Sunday afternoon during the month of September (from 1:30PM-3:30PM) and discuss, explore and engage in activities aimed at gaining a better understanding of family dynamics and improving family communication. Biological parents, stepparents, teens and tweens are encouraged to attend. The cost is $60 per family unit (covers up to 4 family members, $10 each additional member).
Week One: introductions, expectations, confidentiality and lesson #1 – Boundaries
Week Two: welcome back and lesson #2 – Cooperation vs Opposition
Week Three: gaining perspective and lesson #3 – Reverse Roles – Flip the Switch
Week Four: Check-ins, questions/concerns, summary
Experiential means participants will be doing so much more than “talk therapy”. Participants will engage in activities that promote an opportunity to experience successes, identify obstacles, develop improved self-esteem, and take greater responsibility for their actions.
All materials are included in cost.
