Kimie Pruessner, PA-C, IFMCP is a physician assistant and certified Functional Medicine practitioner through the Institute for Functional Medicine. She received her bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University in 2007 and then moved to Galveston to attend the University of Texas Medical Branch, where she completed her master’s degree in physician assistant studies.
She worked in primary care for several years, increasingly desiring to help her patients meaningfully address and resolve the root cause of their illness. In 2017 she began her journey into functional medicine, and two years later in 2019 she became one of the few physician assistants certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine as a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (IFMCP).
In May 2021, Kimie Pruessner, PA-C joined Living Well Health & Wellness Center. In collaboration with Gwen Shipe, MD, she offers her patients psychiatric care from a functional perspective. She is excited to join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of providers who share a dedication to serve patients with effective, comprehensive care that addresses all aspects of wellness.
Kimie Pruessner, PA-C enjoys working with patients who are seeking the full spectrum of resources and support to restore their physical and mental health. Alongside Gwen Shipe, MD, she assists patients who wish to examine their use of psychotropic medications and pursue other options for symptom management, while at the same time addressing the underlying functional disorders preventing her patients' optimal cognitive and emotional health.
She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Institute for Functional Medicine.
