Betty Murray, CN, HHC, RYT
Living Well – Founder
Certified Nutritionist and Holistic Health Counselor

Betty Murray founded Living Well Dallas to create a dramatic shift in people’s lives around health, happiness and fulfillment.

Betty’s focus is on Bio-Individuality; each person is unique. There is no perfect way of eating that works for everybody. Every body has its own chemical makeup and needs. Health is accessible through intuitive eating based on the individual knowing that one person's food may be another's poison.

Betty’s practice also recognizes that a person’s relationship with nutrition and food is affected by other factors that supersede the food. Our relationships, self-esteem, exercise, spirituality and career can be a catalyst for health or imbalance. The more satisfying our life is, the less we'll depend on food to fill a void. This is true life changing holistic nutrition integrated with the best technology nutrition has to offer.

Betty is a board certified Nutritionist and Holistic Health Counselor with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.

If you are ready to increase your health and vitality, you are invited to schedule a Health Consultation with Betty. To read more about our nutrition services, click here.

Suzan Perez, MEd, MRET
Living Well – Rapid Eye Technician
Emotional Freedom Technique & Reiki Master

Suzan learned of the powers of energy work through her own path of healing using several energy clearing modalities: EFT, Rapid Eye Technology and Reiki. She learned that the emotional experiences in our lives contribute to our ill health and dis-ease through creating imbalances in several of the body’s energy systems.

Suzan spent 10 years as a classroom teacher. Through that medium, she experienced the power of education. In 2003, Suzan shifted her focus from public school education of children to educating women and their families to help them live a more connected and vibrant life.

Suzan now uses Rapid Eye Technology and Reiki together to rebalance the subtle energy systems to uncover the sacred within each person. Once layers of trauma, stress and dis-ease are peeled away, an individual can see their true, originally perfect selves more clearly. Once that vision is restored, once you begin to see and remember who you really are, you will begin to make choices for your life based on this truth, not the experiences and perceptions that have covered YOU up for so long.

Suzan’s goal is to bring this gentle and empowering form of healing to women and their families through the collaborative efforts of Living Well Dallas.

For more information, Suzan invites you to contact her for a consultation. Together, you will determine your personal plan for growth. To read more about our energy psychology services click here.

Melody Brummett , LMT
Living Well - Massage Therapist

Massage therapy is far more than an occupation for Melody Brummett. She strongly believes that she was created to be a caregiver and nurturer. After working in the healthcare industry for over 15 years, she feels that she was called and led to massage as a way to fulfill her purpose of caring for others.

Melody received her initial training at Sterling Health Care Center and School for Massage. After earning her Texas state license in massage therapy, she developed a private practice in Carrollton, Texas. She has also been able to volunteer much of her time serving individuals with chronic or terminal illnesses.

Her Care Philosophy: “In order to facilitate healing, I care for the whole person.

I am a devout believer in the power of massage in promoting physical, mental and emotional well-being. I work from the heart and focus completely on my clients during their massage.”

Trained and experienced in the following modalities: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Stretching, Hot Stone, Reflexology and Reiki I.  Because each of us are different and because our needs may change from visit to visit, Melody relies heavily on communication and feedback to create a customized massage addressing individual client's specific issues.  Any or all of the above techniques may be used in an integrative massage depending upon the issues involved.

Melody has a strong desire to learn and grow, both as an individual and as a therapist. In order to better serve, understand, and care for her clients, she actively seeks opportunities to continue her education. Through this training, her techniques are continually evolving and the range of modalities used are ever expanding.

Denise Humphrey , PhD,
Living Well - Clinical Psychologist, Individual and Relational Therapy, Psychological Assessments

As a licensed clinical psychologist and performing classical musician, Dr. Humphrey is experienced in integrating the beneficial aspects of both art and science in her approach to conducting psychotherapy. She brings a unique understanding of harmony and balance to her practice, originating in the therapeutic relationship and resulting ultimately in the enhancement of the individual or couple seeking therapy. She is adept at understanding that we all encounter dilemmas at various points in our lives, yet often aren’t resolved on their own. When that occurs, individual or relational therapy will have a profound impact on obtaining resolution. Dr. Humphrey listens, understands, provides comfort, and pursues the appropriate therapeutic approach for each individual or relational conflict.

Working with couples is one area of specialty for Dr. Humphrey.  She has completed Advanced Couples Training from the Gottman Institute in Seattle, Washington, which has conducted therapeutic, assessment, and intervention research on couples and relationships since 1975.  In addition to heterosexual marriages and relationships, Dr.  Gottman’s research and results have also been applied to gay and lesbian couples.   Dr. Humphrey has experience working with all types of relationships, including “mixed-orientation” marriages, with the understanding that each relationship is unique and that treatment is tailored accordingly.

If hearing the term “mixed-orientation” is unclear, a brief explanation might be helpful.  It isn't about marriages of different races or religions, but about a marriage in which one person is gay or lesbian, and the other person is straight.  While many gay couples have become more open in terms of accepting their sexual orientation and “coming out” to others, those who are in a mixed-orientation relationship are much more closeted.  When a gay spouse agonizes about disclosure, determining how to resolve the predicament can be petrifying.  Upon divulging one’s homosexual orientation, profoundly traumatic issues for both partners usually arise, including loss of trust, depression, betrayal, shame, how or if to inform the children (if any), whether to remain together or depart, etc.  Therapeutic interaction will help them address this delicate dilemma and make the most comfortable decision about how to proceed.

In addition to resolving relational concerns, Dr. Humphrey also helps individuals with problems in the areas of Depression, Abandonment, Anxiety, Adoption, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, and Family of Origin issues.

Dr. Humphrey also provides psychological assessments.   Psychological assessments are administered to identify a wide range of functioning including our strengths, weaknesses, personality styles, and areas needing improvement.  Assessment results help inform and enhance therapy, as well as determine whether medication might be helpful.  In addition to utilizing standard clinical assessment instruments that pinpoint depression, anxiety, stress, personality features, attention deficit problems and body image issues, additional instruments are informative as well.  Examples include emotional intelligence, resilience to stress, attitude and lifestyle, and relational compatibility.

For more information, Denise invites you to contact her for a consultation. Together, you will determine your personal plan for growth. To read more about our counseling and assessment services click here.
